Renovated Lake Retreat

The owners bought this Flathead Lake home, a 60’s ranch style, as a place to relax and unwind. They decided to turn their boathouse/garage into the guest quarters and then turned their attention to the main house. Their rustic Montana theme truly shows their exquisite taste and inventiveness.

Outside, hand hewn log siding replaced the old plywood siding; in addition, curved decks, stonework, and copper gutters were added. The interior was gutted, added onto, and the rustic theme replaced the 60’s look. Most walls were hand plastered and a few were covered with the hand hewn log siding. A massive river rock fireplace was built to be used both downstairs in the livingroom and upstairs in the master bedroom. Log details, a few pieces of rusty tin, wood floors, and handcrafted doors completed the unique look.
