For the past twelve years my wife and I have been planning our retirement home in Montana. After years of collecting pictures from magazines, newspaper articles, blueprint examples and assorted books featuring hundreds of planning ideas, we were finally ready to start our project.

Working with a local architect we converted our overstuffed design scrapbook into our initial set of construction drawings. With Blueprints in-hand our next challenge was to find a competent and reliable contractor capable of undertaking the monumental task of building our home.

In July, 1996, I accepted an international 18-month work assignment in England. Although complicated by this move my wife and I were still very anxious to get the project started as soon as possible. Selecting the right contractor became even more crucial to the success of our project. Especially since we would be living abroad and not able to visit the site during the actual construction.

Having read several books on the subject of selecting a contractor we were very much aware of the challenges we were facing. In addition to finding someone who was honest, competent, trustworthy, reputable, responsive and well respected in the building community, we now also needed to find a contractor who was able to work with us remotely and keep us up-to-date on project status and problems. It sounded like an almost impossible task.

For bidding purposes we selected 4 well respected contractors based on previous work completed and local referrals. Our architects provided the contractors with copies of our blueprints and agreed to answer any questions they might have regarding the drawings. During the bidding period we maintained close contact with our architects to determine which of the contractors were most aggressive with their bids and who they felt was doing the best job. Of the 4 major contractors, Ron Incoronato was by far the most contentious and competent. Ron worked very closely with the architects to ensure clarity and he proposed several cost saving suggestions that would enhance the beauty and appearance of our home without compromising quality or performance.

We returned to Montana in January, 1997, to meet with Ron to discuss the project. During our meeting we were extremely impressed with Ron’s attention to detail and extensive experience. The architects were also impressed and incorporated Ron’s suggestions into the design plans. At first we were very concerned about the complexity of the project and the fact that we were building remotely from England, but Ron Incoronato proved to be extremely competent and very experienced working with remote clients.

The key to the success for the remotely managed project if effective communications and have a knowledgeable and trustworthy contractor working with you every step of the way. Ron did an outstanding job keeping us -up-to-date and we maintained constant communication via fax, telephone, E-mail. Ron was very responsive and sensitive to our needs. He maintained the lever of confidence and trust that we expected from a professional.

Ron provided us with weekly updates as well as sending us photographs of the work in progress. Ron kept us so well informed, that when we returned to the states in October 1997, we felt like we were on site during the entire construction. There were NO surprises and everything was done according to plan. Ron also did an excellent job keeping the project on tract despite considerable problems with every severe weather condition. Ron was well organized and he confirmed our belief that we had the best contractor working on our project.

Ron Incoronato provide excellent client service throughout the entire project and we were especially impressed with his follow-up support after the project was completed. Ron’s sense of professionalism, personal dedication and commitment enabled us to build our home with complete confidence knowing “that the job was done right!”

Over the past months we have received numerous compliments about the house. Several contractors and subcontractors not involved with out project. stopped by to see the house when it was complete. They all commented about the quality of construction and the attention to detail that was provided. They were also very impressed with Ron’s ability as a contractor, which in turn made us feel very satisfied knowing that “even the competition felt that Ron did great job!”

Ron Incoronato made our “dream” home into a “reality” and we very much appreciated his dedication and hard work. Ron was a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend him to anyone seeking the best contract available!
