Parade of Homes 2004 Winner

Our home building experience for our retirement home in the Flathead Valley was somewhat unique as we were living 2500 miles away in North Carolina during the entire building process. We had heard positive comments about Ron Incoronato’s quality work and coincidentally, Jody had remembered Ron from their elementary school days together in Helena before her family moved to the Whitefish area.

Thus, our communications prior to and during the construction period was done by phone, e-mail, and fax, along with an occasional personal visit to the area to visit Jody’s family and vacation. During the planning process, we appreciated Ron’s experience and creativity as to where we were heading as it helped us in “knowing what we wanted”. We were not one of Ron’s bigger projects he has had in the valley but we wanted a house for the 2 of us that was unique in features and well constructed and that was also comfortable for us and the many visitors we have. We certainly got everything we wanted and planned for.

It was reassuring to have received a strong positive assessment on Ron by the bank financing our construction loan. A couple of months into the project, we received an unsolicited phone call from a manager of the bank handling the financing who had spent a day inspecting houses under construction; out of the 5 or 6 houses he and his team had inspected that day, ours stood out on the basis of quality of materials used and in quality of construction.

During the entire construction phase, we received detailed monthly accounting reports as to where we were on the budget. Changes instituted in the building process were meticulously handled with both Ron and us signing off on the changes and immediately knowing budget impact. The end result was that there were no surprises and the project was completed within our budget and certainly to our satisfaction.

One thing that really struck us was when we asked Ron as to how much time we had to discover possible quirks in the house that might require change or correction. His reply was that we would never be rid of him, that he stands by his houses. We’ve had a few questions since construction was completed in August 2004 and had to have a couple of minor repairs such as replacing a cracked window pane. In every instance, Ron was promptly on the situation and a satisfactory solution was quickly reached.

Our house was in the 2004 Parade of homes in the valley where it won numerous prizes for its category. We have enjoyed the house and have received many favorable comments for the workmanship and features in the house. We would heartedly recommend Ron Incoronato for your building project and would welcome discussing our experiences and showing our house as an example of his work.
